Grocery delivery can be for everybody

Icons of different people, illustrating that grocery delivery is for everybody

What do you picture when you think of grocery delivery? If you're a fan of food delivery apps like Uber Eats or Grubhub, you're probably imagining grossly inflated prices and a vague sense of certainty that the food is not going to get to you in time.

Well, we're here to change that perception. Grocery delivery is something that everybody should have access to, and Caboodle is going to make that happen.

Grocery Delivery Was Traditionally for People With a Lot of Money

There's an episode of the famous show Murder, She Wrote where the titular "She" of the series, Jessica Fletcher, is living in a Manhattan apartment while she's teaching criminology at a local university. For many people, this shift to New York City that occurred in the later seasons was a sign that the show was running out of steam, as many fans preferred the comfy setting of Cabot Cove. Personally, we think the real sign of the end was when she switched to using a computer instead of her iconic typewriter. Whoops, we're getting off track.

Anyways, Jessica is a rich and successful novelist, so of course she has her groceries delivered to her lovely apartment without thinking about it twice. That's pretty much a blanket description of the sort of people who regularly enjoyed having their groceries brought to them. They were well off financially and enjoyed grocery delivery as a luxury, a luxury that simply wasn't available to most people.

But the world has changed in the past couple of years, and services like grocery delivery shouldn't continue to be reserved for people with a lot of money. They should be for everybody.

The Pandemic Made Grocery Delivery Necessary

Everything changed in 2020. Suddenly going to the store and doing some shopping became an impossibility.

For many people who are immunocompromised or have other health conditions that put them at a higher risk for contracting COVID-19, going to the grocery store became a daunting task. The thought of risking their health just to get food was unthinkable, so they turned to grocery delivery services as a way to limit their exposure.

But even people who don't fall into those categories found themselves using grocery delivery more out of necessity than anything else. With lockdowns and quarantines happening all over the world, people just didn't have the time to go to the store. They were working from home, taking care of their children, and trying to maintain some semblance of a social life all at the same time. Going to the grocery store became an impossibility for many people.

Grocery stores had to begin finding delivery solutions just to keep up with their competitors and get their products to their customers, but even then they were up-charging for the convenience. Curbside pickup became a middle ground, offering contact-free grocery pickup at the store locations.

The luxurious air around having one's groceries delivered began to blur, and people began searching for delivery solutions that would fit their budgets and their needs. But there really wasn't a lot out there.

Enter Caboodle - The Grocery Delivery Service for Everyone

When we started Caboodle, we set out to bring the convenience of grocery delivery to everybody who wanted it without breaking the bank. In fact, Caboodle actually saves money compared to going to the store.

The way it works is that each week, our users build a grocery list using curated bundles that can be paired in nearly infinite combinations. By using bundles provided by local grocery stores, we're able to price things more cheaply than they would be as individual items on the shelf. That means that Caboodle customers actually enjoy more food for their dollar.

Then, each week, your groceries are brought straight to your door, on time and fresh.

Sounds easy, right? Well, that's because it is.
